This course covers the essentials of managing immediate, potentially life threatening incidents in a systematic manner. Ideal for anyone who may be required to take charge at an incident. This 8-hour course is suitable for some Outdoor Instructor awards. The modular progressive training programme allows this Unit to be the first module of a 16-hour Outdoor First Aid course.

Course Duration
1 - day (4 x 2-hour sessions)

Delivery
Experienced professional trainers/assessors with an active professional interest in First Aid training, understanding the specific needs of various environments. Our trainers/assessors are constantly updating their methods and materials keeping abreast of current best practice from around the world. Trainers/assessors typically have knowledge of the outdoor workplace and follow Health and Safety approved code of practice guidelines.

Safe best practice
A systematic approach to incident management
Unconsciousness, causes and treatment
External bleeding, internal bleeding and shock
Resuscitation procedures including choking
Awareness of current regulations

One CPR training manikin per 2 participants
Easy to follow individual course booklet
A recognised certificate valid for 3 years

Revalidation
This qualification 'license to practice' is revalidated by attending another Outdoor Emergency Action course in 3 years time.
